Mouse Information
| Common Name: |
Arx knockout mice |
| MGI Official Name: |
Arxtm1Pgr |
| Description: |
These mice were created by insertion of the LacZ gene (with nuclear localization signal) into the Arx locus by homologous recombination in embryonic stem cells. The Arx gene is localized on the X chromosome. Knockout mice die after birth with due to hypoglycemia. Therefore male mice die at day 2 past birth. The colony has to be propagated with female mice. Arx-deficient mice do not produce alpha cells in the islets of Langerhans. |
