My main research interest is the control of the adult beta cell mass by (i) proliferation and differentiation of adult pancreatic and non-pancreatic stem cells, (ii) proliferation of pancreatic insulin-positive cells and (iii) transdifferentiation of pancreatic non-beta- to beta cells.
