Announcing Keystone Symposia’s Meeting on “Advances in Islet Biology”

Apply for a scholarship, submit an abstract and register for Keystone Symposia’s conference on “Advances in Islet Biology,” which takes place March 25-30, 2012 at Portola Hotel & Spa in Monterey, California, USA.
Organized by Lori Sussel of Columbia University, Jorge Ferrer of Institut d''Investigacions Biomediques Auguts Pi i Sunyer (IDIBAPS) and Andrew F. Stewart of the University of Pittsburgh, the conference will:
- Convene with a keynote address by Andrew Hattersley of Peninsula Medical School on the evening of Sunday, March 25, followed by four days of informative plenary sessions, workshops and poster sessions;
- Address some of the controversies that still exist in the field, especially with regards to the generation and maintenance of functionally mature b cells for therapeutic purposes;
- Discuss comparative mouse and human studies to illustrate if and when mouse studies can be applied to the human situation;
- Provide ample free time for informal networking and collaboration-building in a scenic coastal setting.
Discounted registration rates are available to students, and scholarships are available to students and postdoctoral fellows.
